The International Water Centre (IWC) offers Masters Scholarships each year to outstanding candidates who show the potential to become future water leaders. The award supports study in the IWC Master of Integrated Water Management (MIWM) at Griffith University in Australia. It is aimed at international students who want to build a career in water management.

Who can apply

Type A – Future water leader from selected countries in Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Africa and the Middle-East. One of these scholarships will be reserved and awarded to a female candidate.

Type B – Future water leader from selected countries in North America, Europe, or Asia.

What the award covers

Type A – Each scholarship is valued at approximately AU$ 95,564 and will cover full tuition fees, living expenses, return air travel to Australia, and student visa.

Type B – The scholarship is valued at approximately AU$ 58,989 and will cover full tuition fees, return air travel to Australia, and overseas health cover.

Eligibility requirements

To apply for a scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:

  • A completed undergraduate degree in a related field of study from an internationally-recognised institution;
  • At least two years of professional experience (paid work or volunteering experience) relevant to the program;
  • Receive a full offer of admission into the MIWM program from Griffith University.

International candidates must also demonstrate English Language Proficiency (ELP) – see Griffith University requirements including minimum scores for ELP tests

Applicants who apply for the scholarship must first apply for admission in to Griffith University and meet the admission requirements. Applications for the MIWM Scholarships are completed via an online link. Online applications for the scholarships open on 18 May and will close on 1 August 2020 for international applicants.
