You must meet all of these conditions to apply:

  • You are a citizen of a country outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland and you are required to pay a tuition fee.
  • You are applying in a regular application round for Master's level studies that lead to a degree at Lund University, or, exceptionally, for one of the Bachelor's programmes in Development Studies, Mathematics, Physics and Physical Geography.
  • The Lund University programme you are applying for a scholarship for must be your first choice in your application at universityadmissions.se.

Do not apply if you do not meet the admission requirements to Lund University, if you have not selected a Lund University programme or course as your first choice or choices at universityadmissions.se, or if you cannot secure the funding needed to cover living costs as required by the Swedish Migration Board.

How to apply

Applications are currently closed.

First, apply for the programme or free-standing course you want to study at Lund University through the national application website, www.universityadmissions.se, during the application period (16 October 2025 – 15 January 2026) for studies starting in the autumn semester. Note that a few programmes do not open for applications until 1 December.

After you have made a complete application to a degree programme and paid the application fee, you can apply for the scholarship through the scholarship application portal. The portal is available on the official website once the application period opens. The application round usually opens in February every year. The 2025 round closed on 16 February. When the next round opens, you will find a link to the application portal with detailed instructions on the official website.
