Umeå University awards scholarships to high-achieving international students from outside the EU/EEA who want to study a Master's programme at the university. The award reduces the cost of tuition by covering part or all of the fee. It is open to students who have already applied for a full degree programme at Umeå.

Eligibility requirements
You are welcome to apply for a scholarship if you
- are a citizen of a country outside of EU/EEA and Switzerland.
- have applied for a full programme at Umeå University (Bachelor's or Master's)
- have completed your application for programme studies at master's level (before the application deadline of 15 January 2026 and have paid the application fee by 2 February 2026).
- have Umeå University programme as priority 1 at universityadmissions.se
How to apply

You must have completed your application for admissions for a Umeå University Master's programme via universityadmissions.se by 15 January 2026 in order to apply for the scholarship. When the application form opens in 4-9 February, eligible students will receive an e-mail with application instructions. Deadline for scholarship applications is 4 March 2026.
