Overview
The Adlerbert Study Scholarships pay your entire tuition fee for a Master's programme at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden. The Adlerbert Foundations fund the awards, and they are reserved for students who hold citizenship in one of 143 countries. If you are applying to a Master's programme as a fee-paying student from one of those countries, this award removes the tuition cost for the whole programme.
Awarded by
Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden
Subjects and level
Master's level. Any field is accepted: the award applies to all current Master's Programmes at Chalmers.
Awards available
4 scholarships are awarded.
Who can apply
Open to citizens of 143 developing countries. Check the country list before you apply, since nationality is the first filter for this award.
The scholarships are for prospective students only. Applications must be submitted prior to the start of the first academic year at Chalmers, as they are not open to current students.
What the award covers
The scholarship covers 100% of the tuition fees for a 4 semester, 2 year programme. It is a tuition waiver only, so plan for living costs and other expenses separately.
Scholarship offers are valid for two years of study under certain conditions, which are outlined in the Scholarship Regulations.
Eligibility requirements
You must be a first year Master's programme applicant and a citizen of one of the 143 eligible countries.
Selection rests on academic merit. The main measure is your weighted average grade. The selection also weighs the standing of your home university, including its position on global ranking lists, and the priority order in which you list your Chalmers Master's programme choices.
Being granted alternative or complementary funding from external patrons does not affect the possibility of obtaining scholarships from Chalmers, as an applicant's financial status is not taken into account during the nomination process.
How to apply
Applications open late November 2026.
Start with the Master's application. Apply online to at least one Master's programme at Chalmers through universityadmissions.se between 16 October 2026 and 15 January 2027. That application gives you an application number, and you need this number to complete the scholarship application.
The scholarship is a separate application from the Master's application. The scholarship application period runs from late November 2026 until mid-January 2027. The scholarship deadline aligns with the programme application deadline, not the deadline for submitting supporting documentation. You can apply for a scholarship before completing your programme application with the necessary documentation.
Scholarship award notifications are sent by e-mail to all grant recipients between mid-March and late April 2027. To keep your scholarship offer, you must confirm that you accept it by the deadline specified in your notification. All applicants receive an email with information regardless of whether or not they have been awarded a scholarship.
Read the how to apply page and the official website before you submit, so you have every step and document in the right order.
