Canadian International Development Scholarships 2030 (BCDI 2030): Government of Canada Funding

Overview

About 600 students from 26 partner countries will receive scholarships to study or train in Canada through the Canadian International Development Scholarships 2030 (BCDI 2030). The program is funded by Global Affairs Canada and runs for eight years, from 2022 to 2030.

It covers vocational and technical training as well as higher education, and each project sets its own study levels and subjects. The aim is to widen access to education and support social and economic development in the eligible countries, with priority areas linked to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Eligibility requirements

You cannot apply as an individual. Eligibility works through a partnership between a Canadian higher education institution (HEI) and an HEI in one of the 26 eligible countries.

Canadian HEIs and their partners whose projects are funded run the call for applications themselves and choose the recipients. They use their own selection criteria, set in line with the terms of BCDI 2030 and the admission requirements of the study programs.

How to apply

Individuals cannot apply directly to the BCDI 2030 program. Candidates must apply to the international partners. To learn more, please explore the projects and contact the resource persons named for each Canadian scholarship project. Deadline varies depending on the program.
