UCL Global Masters Scholarships for International Students

The UCL Global Masters Scholarship provides £15,000 to international students from lower income backgrounds so they can study a full-time Master's degree at University College London. The award is open to students from any country outside the UK. It is aimed at those who would otherwise struggle to meet the cost of study in London.

The scholarship applies to all postgraduate Taught Master's degree programmes in any subject offered at UCL. Distance-learning programmes are not eligible.

Up to 85 scholarships are available in 2026/27. Five of these are aimed specifically at students from India.

International students from a low income background.

The scholarship is worth £15,000 and covers one year only, unless the full-time programme lasts two years. In that case, the scholarship is paid in two parts: 50% in each year.

Candidates can be from any country outside the UK but must meet all of the following criteria:

• be eligible to pay the Overseas fee rate;
• come from a lower income background*;
• have submitted an admission application for a full-time Master's degree at UCL in 2025/26.

You need to have submitted an admission application to UCL (including the submission of references) in order to apply for the scholarship. While you do not need to have received an offer of admission to be eligible for this scholarship, you will need to have had your fee status confirmed by UCL Admissions.

Applications must be submitted through an online application form before 5pm BST, Tuesday 7 May 2026.
