Overview
The Association of Rhodes Scholars in Australia (ARSA) runs a Scholarship Fund that brings a student from a Commonwealth country outside Australia to carry out research in Australia and meet leading scholars in their field. The grant is meant to support work tied to the applicant's current thesis project.
The selected scholar spends six to twelve months as a visiting postgraduate scholar at an Australian university, between 1 March 2014 and 28 February 2015, doing research that counts towards the research higher degree they are already enrolled in.

What the award covers
The award is a grant-in-aid of up to AU$20,000, and that figure includes the contribution towards the holder's travel costs to and from Australia.
As a rule, the person who receives the Scholarship is already receiving a stipend from their home university while they study.
Eligibility requirements
You must be enrolled in a research higher degree programme at a Commonwealth university outside Australia, and that university must be approved by the Committee that administers the Scholarship.
In general, the award is not given to students who will be in the first ten (10) months or the final six (6) months of their candidature when they visit Australia.
Applicants have to be Commonwealth citizens, and they cannot hold a degree from an Australian or New Zealand university. Current and former Rhodes Scholars cannot apply.
The Scholarship does not support students who want to enrol for a degree at an Australian university. Holders stay enrolled in their research higher degree programme at an overseas Commonwealth university.
