Australia Awards Fellowships (AusAid) for Short-Term Study in Australia

Australia Awards Fellowships (AusAid) for Short-Term Study in Australia

Overview

Australia Awards Fellowships, previously known as Australia Leadership Awards Fellowships, are funded by the Australian government through AusAid. They support short-term study, research and professional attachment programs in Australia, delivered by Australian organisations.

The fellowships are part of a regional program that builds leadership and creates partnerships with developing countries. They are designed for people who already hold leadership positions or show the potential to take on leadership roles that can shape social and economic policy reform and development results.

  • Host country: Australia
  • Level: Short course and research

  • Deadline: 29 March 2017 (bi-annual)
  • Target group: Citizens of eligible developing countries in Asia Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, and Turkey

Who should apply

This fellowship suits professionals from eligible developing countries who already lead or show leadership potential in areas linked to development, and who want to build skills through a short program in Australia. It also fits Australian organisations that have ongoing links with counterpart organisations overseas and can host a Fellow.

If you are a mid-career professional working on policy, development or public issues in your home country and you meet the age, citizenship and English requirements, this may be a good fit. You must be nominated by an Australian organisation, not apply on your own.

Awarded by

Australian organisations with existing links to counterpart organisations in eligible countries can apply to host Fellows. Past hosts have come from academia, research, business, industry, media, NGOs, professional groups and government.
