Overview

Rotary International picks up to 130 peace and development leaders every year for fully funded fellowships. Fellows study peace, conflict resolution and prevention either through a Professional Development Certificate Program or a Master's Degree Program. The study takes place at one of the participating peace centers in the USA, Japan, the UK, Australia, Sweden or Uganda.

Important Note: Fellowship recipients may not study at a Rotary Peace Center in their home country, with the exception of candidates from Uganda, who may attend the center at Makerere University.

Eligibility requirements

The Rotary Peace Fellowship is designed for professionals with work experience in international development or peace and conflict prevention and resolution. Applicants must also meet the following requirements:

  • Have three years of related work experience for the master's program
  • Have five years of related work experience for the certificate program and be able to explain how their plan to promote peace aligns with Rotary's mission
  • Be proficient in English
  • Have a bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrate leadership skills
  • Have a strong commitment to cross-cultural understanding and peace as shown through professional and academic achievements and personal or community service
