Overview
The International Peace Scholarship Fund is a PEO program that pays part of the cost of graduate study in the United States or Canada for selected women from other countries. Awards are need-based and are meant to support advanced degrees, not to cover every expense. Recipients are expected to return home and use their education to benefit their own countries and support global peace.

A recipient in graduate school may apply for one (1) renewal. In total, a student may receive assistance for no more than two (2) years.
Eligibility requirements
The P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship Fund gives financial help to women from outside the United States and Canada who are working toward advanced degrees at an accredited college or university in the U.S. or Canada. The expectation is that students return to their home countries and use their education to make a positive impact and support global peace.
To qualify for a first scholarship, an applicant must have a full year of coursework remaining and be enrolled and in residence for the entire school year.
Doctoral students who have finished coursework and are working only on a dissertation cannot apply as first-time applicants.
International students at Cottey College are eligible to apply.
A student who is a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or Canada is not eligible. A student with residency for tax purposes only is permitted.
Who should apply
This award suits women who are not from the United States or Canada, are already heading into a Masters or PhD at an accredited institution there, and will be on campus for a full academic year. It fits students with at least a full year of coursework ahead who need partial help with costs rather than full funding.
It is not for first-time applicants who are dissertating only, for US or Canadian citizens and permanent residents, or for study that is online or purely practical training without coursework.
How to apply
Applicants must first establish eligibility. The eligibility information is on the official website at any time, but the completed form is only accepted electronically in the IPS office between 15 September and 15 December each year.
