If you cannot find a scholarship in your chosen subject, or in the university or country where you want to study, widen your search. Look at lists of scholarships that accept any field of study and scholarships that can be used in any country. This gives you more options and greater flexibility.
Start with awards tied to your subject or your target university or country, since those fit you best. Even so, it pays to also check the broader lists. They open up possibilities you might otherwise miss.
Two terms need care. "Scholarships in any field of study" means any subject the university or scholarship provider itself offers, not every subject that exists. "Scholarships in any university or country" means the provider allows study in any country, or at any university within a country, as the provider states. These categories are not absolute, so expect limits and exceptions.
IMPORTANT REMINDER: When you open a scholarship profile, always read the "Fields of Study" section. There you will find a list of eligible programmes, or a link to one. Some universities or providers will not fund certain subjects, or will not permit study in certain countries. Others name only a set of eligible programmes or countries. Before you apply, confirm that your subject and your intended country are approved under that scholarship.
