Government stipend versus university monthly payments

The Eiffel Excellence Scholarships from the French Government pay €1,200 a month at Master's level and €2,100 at PhD, for 12-36 months, plus international and national transport, health insurance and housing-search help. Universities pay differently. Université Paris-Saclay gives €10,000 per year paid monthly September to June, reduced during months abroad or in external internships, plus up to €900 yearly for travel and visa. ENS de Lyon's Ampère award is €1,000 per month for one academic year, renewable under conditions. ENS International Selection pays €1,000 monthly for 3 years and a campus room.

Tuition exemptions at the grandes écoles and business schools

Sciences Po funds fees rather than living costs: Émile Boutmy gives non-EU students either total exemption or €9,500 off undergraduate tuition, and €18,500 off each Master's year. Business school awards are fixed sums. INSEAD Greendale covers €35,000 of tuition for disadvantaged Southern and East Africans; INSEAD Nelson Mandela gives up to €20,000 to sub-Saharan nationals; INSEAD-Syngenta pays €22,500; Fondation Rainbow Bridge at HEC Paris pays €20,000 to women from affected Asian or African countries. The HEC-Eiffel stipend of about €1,100 monthly excludes tuition.

Conditions that narrow the pool, and one date still ahead

Admission usually comes first. HEC-Eiffel requires admission to the full-time MBA and an application within 1 week of it; Rainbow Bridge requires full-time MBA admission; Boutmy requires admission to Sciences Po. Age caps apply: ENS International Selection bars applicants past their 26th birthday on December 1st, HEC-Eiffel caps at 30. ENS also bars anyone who has lived in France more than 10 months in the selection year or the year before. On dates, only Université Paris-Saclay's 31 March 2026, 11:59pm is ahead; Ampère (23 Jan 2026), ENS (15 December 2026) and Eiffel (January 6, 2027) need checking against the official call.
