University of the People (UoPeople) lets you earn an American university degree online without paying tuition. It is a non-profit, accredited university that runs entirely online and exists to widen access to higher education around the world.
Classes carry no charge, reading and other study materials carry no charge, and annual enrollment carries no charge. To keep the model sustainable, the university does charge small processing fees for applications and examinations. If you cannot pay these nominal fees, UoPeople runs a range of scholarship funds built to cover the different needs of its students.
The degree options are associate and bachelor's degrees in business administration and computer science. Teaching happens in small online classes, with personal attention from world-class professors, and your classmates come from all over the world.
Beyond coursework, UoPeople offers internship and mentoring programs so students gain hands-on experience with partners such as HP and Microsoft, alongside the academic study of the industry. You can study anytime, anywhere, tuition-free.
