Lund University Global Scholarship Programme for International Students
Lund University
Sweden's listed scholarships are overwhelmingly Master's awards, and almost all of them are tuition waivers paid by the universities themselves rather than cash in hand. Of 18 scholarships across 17 hosts, 17 are at Master's level, with one Bachelor's, one PhD and one Postdoc entry. Only 6 have a deadline still ahead. The exception is the Swedish Institute's government award, which adds a monthly stipend, insurance and a travel grant.

Most awards come from individual universities and cut the tuition fee only. Adlerbert Study Scholarships at Chalmers cover 100% of tuition for a two-year programme and are limited to citizens of 143 developing countries. Uppsala University Global Scholarships and Axel Adler Scholarships at Gothenburg also cover the full fee. Partial waivers come from Chalmers IPOET (75%, rising to 85%), Mälardalen University and University of Skövde (50%). None of these pay living costs.
Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals are the outlier: full tuition, living expenses of SEK 12,000 per month, insurance and a one-time travel grant of SEK 10,000-15,000. Applicants must be citizens of one of 34 listed countries and show work and leadership experience. Outside the university system, Rotary Peace Fellowships cover tuition, room and board, and round-trip transportation, and Erasmus Mundus adds a monthly allowance, travel and insurance. Guest Scholarship Programme postdocs pay SEK 18,000 per month plus a SEK 15,000 travel grant.
Nearly every award requires you to apply for the programme through University Admissions and rank the host first. KTH Scholarship and Karolinska Institutet Global Master's both exclude second, third or fourth choices. Several awards enforce study pace: Mälardalen requires 22.5 credits per semester and 45 per year. The 6 live deadlines cluster in January and February 2027, from BTH's 15 January 2026 to Karolinska's 8 to 24 February 2027. The other 12 dates are past and must be rechecked.
Mostly no. The university awards are tuition waivers only. The Swedish Institute covers living expenses of SEK 12,000 per month, insurance and a travel grant of SEK 10,000-15,000.
Yes, that is the target group. Most listed awards require you to be a non-EU/EEA citizen paying tuition fees, and some, like Adlerbert at Chalmers, are limited to citizens of 143 developing countries.
For many awards, yes. KTH, Karolinska Institutet, Uppsala, Gothenburg and Mälardalen all require the programme to be your first priority on University Admissions.
6 of the 18 listed scholarships have a deadline ahead, mostly 15 January 2027 or mid-February 2027. The remaining 12 dates have passed and need rechecking with the host.
Check the single deadline and nationality rule for each award before you build your University Admissions ranking.
